Trails & Natural Lands Groundskeepers are responsible for the care of assigned trails, natural areas and other public properties within Salt Lake City’s open space lands system. Typical duties include the maintenance of native vegetation and landscape areas, control of noxious weeds, ecological restoration and enhancement, maintenance of natural and urban trails and trail amenities, litter cleanup, and various other tasks as assigned. Duties include occasional interface with public. Work is primarily outdoors under a variety of weather and environmental conditions, and may involve hiking to reach the job site. Work locations include the Jordan River Parkway and tributary stream corridors, Salt Lake City foothills, and various other locations around the city.
