  Under the direction of the Capital Improvement Program & Impact Fee Manager, this position supports programs and activities associated with the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Impact Fee Refunding program including: determination of project eligibility, evaluation and selection criteria; preparation of various reports and notifications; and, the facilitation of the citizen participation aspect of the program. Incumbent performs professional Internal Auditor assignments, including performing detailed financial and accounting auditing to determine the reliability and effectiveness of financial and control systems. Coordinates the preparation of reports summarizing audit results. Makes recommendations and reviews audit findings with managers. Provides work leadership to lower level auditing staff on complex audits. May review the progress and work of subordinates (or support staff) for adequacy, method, and procedures. May act as Audit Leader for an audit team assigned to specific functional or operational areas. Plans methods to be followed in the conduct of audits, recommends activities to be examined, the extent of examination and establishes completion schedules.

    Salt Lake City Public Lands is looking to hire a photography intern. This intern will have the opportunity to spend the spring, summer, and early fall taking photographs of city parks, trails, and natural areas. Intern will also spend time taking photographs while shadowing public lands field staff and attending events. Intern will be responsible for creating an organized digital library of their photos on the City’s internal network. Time permitting, intern may be responsible for publishing photographs on Public Lands’ social media accounts. Intern will be expected to provide their own photography equipment. The intern will work closely with all Public Lands divisions, which include Parks, Urban Forestry, and Trails and Natural Lands. This position is a great opportunity for a photography, art, communications, or marketing student who also has interest in parks, natural resources, environmental science, or recreation. This job is designed to provide students with paid professional experience to further their education and training and is academically oriented for the student’s benefit.   To qualify, students must be enrolled in an accredited school program related to photography, art, communications, marketing, or other area of study relevant to the position.  Positions will terminate upon completion of the internship period.  Incumbents may deal with confidential information, which is expected to be maintained as confidential and shared only on a need-to-know basis with city employees and elsewhere when authorized by the intern’s city supervisor.
