Under the general supervision of the Development Review Supervisor with guidance from the Chief Plans Examiner, incumbent performs technical review of residential or other construction plans to ensure compliance with municipal building or zoning codes, and reviews complex plans of new construction and alterations/repairs of existing structures within City limits.   Also reviews building or zoning plans for completeness, accuracy and conformance to applicable building codes, ordinances, zoning regulations and national standards. The incumbent acts as a consultant to inspectors in the field on extraordinary problems.   Researches historical background information pertinent to individual building permits and develops and maintains knowledge of current building policies, procedures and standards. Handles the full-range of plan check duties including screening and preliminary review, and is responsible for independent decisions requiring technical judgment and public relations skills. This position is distinguished from the Plans Examiner I/II/III by the thorough knowledge of the City's policies and practices in applying and interpreting the building codes. Incumbents may receive assignments of larger and more complicated projects to review.

  The Salt Lake City Attorney’s Office has an opening for a litigation paralegal.  The successful candidate will work primarily on civil litigation matters.  Work includes issuing subpoenas, collating, reviewing and organizing documents, both in electronic and traditional means, and assisting in preparing and responding to discovery.  Tasks may also include assisting in hearing and trial preparation, assisting with the issue of litigation holds, reviewing plats, and other administrative tasks on an as needed basis. This is a professional position requiring independent judgment, a thorough knowledge of legal processes and litigation procedures, legal research methods and the ability to perform and track numerous, simultaneous tasks.   Preference will be given to candidates with civil litigation experience, strong technology skills, and experience dealing with electronic discovery issues, including collection, processing, reviewing, coding and document production.   Total compensation includes extensive benefits package of paid leave (sick, vacation, holiday, etc.) and a variety of insurance plans (medical, dental, life, etc.).

Fleet assets include automobiles, light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, and power operated equipment. Includes writing vehicle/equipment specifications, vehicle and equipment ordering, delivery, utilization, and disposal. Develops fleet design standards that minimize total cost while meeting user requirements. Enhance asset utilization using data from fleet information software analytics. Collaborates with internal customers to develop annual budget for procurement in support of the acquisition plan. Serves as the primary interface between the vendor and the City’s internal customers. Accountable for Fleet Management Information System content: supplier selection from sourced contracts and purchasing plans for buyers; initiate asset-specific financial record keeping of capital costs; enter asset information, costs, warranty, maintenance programs; upkeep of physical asset location/ personnel assignments; coordinate onboarding of new assets; disposal and record keeping of outgoing assets. Reports to the Fleet Division Director.
